This 1,750 SF tenant improvement project at the California Technical Institute in Pasadena California, enhances research potential within the Gordon & Betty Moore Laboratory of Engineering. Designed to support cutting edge-experimentation and precision work, the scope includes four high-resolution optical laboratories, a student collaboration room, a kitchenette, and a lounge. Given the extreme sensitivity of the optical labs to acoustic and mechanical vibrations, specialized mitigation strategies were implemented to ensure the stability and accuracy of advanced laser-based research. Equally critical was the creation of a clean, controlled environment to minimize particulate and environmental interference, reinforcing the project’s alignment with the demands of high-level scientific inquiry. This laboratory space supports both individual research and collaborative academic exchange, reflecting the institute’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in engineering and applied sciences.
