This 2,500 SF tenant improvement project delivers highly specialized research and instructional laboratory tailored to meet the technical and safety requirements of Caltech’s advanced academic programs. The compact yet complex scope includes a water tank area and a laboratory area with infrastructure to support hands-on experimentation and instruction. The water tank area is equipped with overhead camera rails, a storefront system, and built-in cabinetry and plumbing for functional support, secured with card reader access to ensure controlled entry. The laboratory features individual laser tables enclosed with safety curtains, along with dedicated sinks, lab benches, and integrated cabinetry to support all research activities. Additional elements incorporated into the project are hallway observation windows and laser warning lights. The project includes the design and specification of lab signage in compliance with Caltech’s Design Guidelines, ensuring consistency and campus-wide alignment with a high technical learning environment.
